Finishing school is one of life’s defining moments. A deluge of exams, career choices, life-changing decisions and, of course, Schoolies Week! A wild week of alcohol, sex, and rock and roll on the Gold Coast to farewell life at high school. But with all the fun and hype, come the pitfalls…

Accompanying the script is a collection of critical essays from leaders in arts education, performance practice, and psychology. The essays explore the creative process of building performance for young people, and providing opportunities for cross-arts practice including drama, music, movement and media.

PROD HIST

Blurred was first produced for STAGE X, an initiative of the Queensland Performing Arts Trust in 1999 at Festival Hall in Brisbane. Blurred was also adapted into a screenplay and nominated for an AFI award in 2002.

Includes Educational Resources
The education resources included in this text are divided into three sections.

Framework One: Cartography
The activities in this frame use the lens of Cartography.  In this way, the text issued as an example of a journey being an inner and outer experience.  Rather than looking at a journey as a simple matter of arrival and departure.

Framework Two: Lens - Construction of Youth
In this framework, the lens – Construction of Youth is used to demonstrate the power of the media in portraying youth in very particular ways with specific outcomes.  It is hoped that this will enable students to become active, rather than passive, shapers of their own transition into adulthood.

The notes conclude with two (forming and presenting) suggested assessment tasks.
